Fashion Friday: Fall 2010 Finale

Here is the last installment of a three-part review of the fall fashion shows.  I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have.

Marc Jacobs
Deliciously retro, high-glamour, and school-girl chic.  Love it.

Prada
Legwear, Legwear, Legwear.  Add plaid and YES PLEASE.

Lim is all about textiles and texture.  Intriguing.

Rachel Comey
I only recently stumbled into this designer because Keri Russel
recommended her in a recent interview.  I've found that female designers (Karan, Herrera)
are so in tune with the way clothes should move on a woman and what parts to highlight on her figure.  Comey falls in line with this.

Zac Posen
A color-palate worthy of royalty.

It is me, or do you see Madonna wearing each of these things?  Oh Donatella...sigh.
Versace

Vivienne Westwood
Now that's what I call derelict. Superbly done.

Phew!  We did it.  That's wraps up the fall fashion roundup. My top five:

 NUMBER FIVE: MARC JACOBS

NUMBER FOUR: ETRO

NUMBER THREE: PRADA

NUMBER TWO: FENDI

NUMBER ONE: DIOR

We would LOVE to hear your favorites!

Fashion Friday: Fall 2010

Rather than overwhelm you with too many pictures of Fall 2010 runway recaps (after all, one can easily over-indulge in beauty just as one can in, oh, I don't know, say, too many red velvet cupcakes (not that I have any personal experience with this), I'll be posting designers in installments starting today and over the weekend so as to give your eyes the rest they need.

This is by no means a comprehensive or anywhere near exhaustive list of designers, but are the designers toward whom I tend to gravitate.

Here goes.  Click on any image to enlarge.
Love the muted colors and elegant patterns

The draping.  Oh the draping.

Bottega is always so good for drama.

Absolutely gorgeous fall line, full of military-inspired jackets and a rich but subdued color-palate.  This is my second favorite of the ones posted today.

Oh my fashion god.  Make Dior Not War.
So burlesque-chic; equestrian fabulous; coquette perfection.
My favorite by far.

They used a lot of knit-inspired pieces, very ski-lodge.  Love the series of long white chiffon dresses.

Things that make me smile Wednesday

Good afternoon friendly neighbor. Can you believe this sweltering 85 degree heat? If Seattle is benevolent enough to give us a proper June, that is cause to smile indeed.

Happy Wednesday!

This print makes me smile with pensive revere and appreciation

This happy and sophisticated clement dress makes me smile. The summer version of melancholy chic, perhaps? (I love the whole line actually).

These four runway rooms featured on Coco+Kelly(a fabulous seattle design blog) make me grin. Can you guess my favorites?
