12 November 2010

let's begin the wishlist-ing. shall we?

Every internet turn I take lately, I seem to end up "favoriting" "adding to wishlist" or "pinning" items.  Lots to want.  Lots to love.

Today's Want Bad:

I'm going to rate this as a "want wicked bad," or a 4 on the "want bad" list. The scale is as follows:

  1. Want bad
  2. Want kinda bad
  3. Want really bad
  4. Want wicked bad
  5. Want maximum bad
I know just exactly where I would put this print!  That this space does not yet exist is neither important nor logical.

MME.

* There will no doubt be a slew of posts here on Pretty, Please about these desires.  Feel free to click "purchase" and then send them to me.  Happy Wanting Bad!

Book Lamp

Alrighty, here's another design conundrum for me.  My sister sent me the link to this book lamp, and at first, I thought "OUI!!!" but upon further investigation, I discovered a catch.  The house stays illuminated once the book is placed on top.  What kind of person can sleep with such light?  Hmmmm.
Thoughts?

Novel-T

Spied these shirts on Design Crush this morning and have been thinking about them ever since.  It was almost IMPOSSIBLE to choose, but I think it's either Team Thoreau or Team Vonnegut for me  (although Team Darwin and Team Ahab) were my second runners up).

What team do you choose?

p.s.  I wear a size Medium.
WINK.

Penguin Postcards

These were the hot item on the internet last week, and I just simply had to share them here too!
Yep, ladies and gents, these are penguin-edition book cover postcards!

It looks like they're available for purchase HERE
( just in case someone is looking for a Vday present for little 'ol me.)

( "But she hates Valentine's day," he says)

("Well yeah, but I LOVE PRESENTS," she quips back)

(I mean, I could cast aside my hatred of the day just once, if I had to.)

(I'm just sayin'.)

Bookclub...

I am an avid reader of Down and Out Chic, a great little blog by a friend Christina, and she's recently gotten behind a new bookclub.  Since I never read anything non-classic, I've decided this may be just the ticket I need to branch out and do something I would not otherwise do.  It's a great idea, and I would love for you to join as well!!

The first book is entitled Half Broke Horses.   Send Christina a note at downandoutchic@gmail.com and tell her I sent ya!

Looking forward to a year of new things!

Weekly Antler Gathering...

Happy Friday to you all. Congratulations on surviving the grueling shopping of last week's Black Friday and this week's Cyber Monday.  Got all your shopping done? :)

If you are still looking for ideas for me, check out my weekly posts at Antler Blog:
  • Books, Books, Books...bursting at the seams.  Do you like them free of restraint?
  • Or do you prefer ends to keep them in place.

I hope your weekend is frostbitten with December happiness and candy cane smiles.
Or just good,
MME.

Weekly Antler Gathering...

How was your Thanksgiving?  I was hanging out with my sister and her in-laws and we had our meal at Black Angus.  Despite some trepidation about eating at a restaurant for what is arguably my favorite meal of the year, it was really good!  The best part?  Well, I believe it was the controlled portions.  So what if we bought an apple pie on the way home.

Here's a review of this week on Antler Magazine (which, if you haven't checked out this month's issue, you should! I'm in it!!!) :
Make no mistake, I shall not be shopping in any shape or form today.  Do you dare brave it?  Are you one of those people who thrive on the external stimulation or just the sweet taste of sale prices?  I am neither.  Therefore, I know god loves me...for on the 8th day he created the INTERNET and then on the 12th day, online shopping.

Weekly Antler Gathering...

Happy Friday, dearlings.  This week has been surreal! I celebrated my first official published writing of my career.  This is due to the gracious and lovely publication of Antler Magazine.  It is my privledge to work with these people and have my name on such a visually stunning publication.  You can check out the November issue HERE.

Here's a recap of my weekly posts on Antler's blog.  It is, as usual, all revolving around my muse: BOOKS.

I hope this weekend feels so good to your overworked bones.  I'm celebrating my 7th wedding anniversary, so I'm sure it will be great.
